Fishing

Lunarpaw stretched out on the rock, sighing contently as she soaked up the warmth from the afternoon sun. Determined to get as much relaxation in before her final assessment tomorrow, she let herself drift off into a comfortable daze. 

Sadly, her relaxation didn't last much longer, for just as her muscles loosened up, a massive splash sounded nearby. Startled, Lunarpaw sprung to her paws, fur on end and claws unsheathed. Just across the river was enemy territory, and she wasn't about to let some snooty Darkclan cat come into her territory without a fight. Suddenly, a familiar russet and white figure emerged from the water, and Lunarpaw sighed in annoyance before forcing herself to relax once more. Leave it to Hawkpaw to ruin her last day as apprentice.

The large tom floated down the river before coming to a stop beside her, just near the bank. He was soaked to the bone, and Lunarpaw had to stifle a laugh at his expression. A large fish was in his jaws, clumsily flopping around as it tried to escape. 

"You might want to let it go before it smacks you silly," Lunarpaw purred, watching in amusement as the fish's tail smacked Hawkpaw in the face.

Hawkpaw quickly bit down harder, and the fish ceased it's movement, "Are you kidding? I spent hours sitting upstream, waiting and waiting for something. Finally I caught this guy! Just look at him! He's big enough to feed a Queen and her kits!"

Lunarpaw made a face, "Ew, no. Fish tastes disgusting. You cant feed that to the kits."

"Sure I can. It has plenty of meat on it. A perfect meal," Hawkpaw retorted, finally climbing out of the fridged water and shaking out his thick pelt.

Lunarpaw winced as she was showered with water, "You're gross, you know that?"

"You're just jealous because you cant catch fish~"
